AGES 14+ • 100% REMOTE • WORK ON YOUR TIME • REAL EXPERIENCE
PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18
Turn your interests into experience—and your experience into impact.
The Room to Breathe Foundation Internship & Service-Learning Program gives students, recent graduates, emerging professionals, and individuals looking to grow an opportunity to contribute to real nonprofit projects while developing practical skills and exploring future paths.
Because Room to Breathe Foundation is a fully remote nonprofit organization, all opportunities within the program are remote.
You won't just observe. You'll create, contribute, collaborate, and learn.
Whether you're interested in design, technology, writing, social media, media production, fundraising, community outreach—or you're still figuring out what interests you—we want to give you room to explore.
YOUR TALENT • YOUR IDEAS • YOUR IMPACT
Everyone brings something different to the table.
Maybe you're already creating incredible graphics. Maybe you love writing. Maybe you're fascinated by technology, photography, video, or social media. Maybe you want to make a difference in your community.
Or maybe you're 14 and just beginning to discover what you're good at.
That's okay.
You don't need a professional résumé or years of experience to have something valuable to contribute.
We're looking for people who are:
CURIOUS • CREATIVE • DEPENDABLE • RESPECTFUL • WILLING TO LEARN • READY TO CONTRIBUTE
Tell us what you already know.
Tell us what interests you.
And most importantly—
tell us what you'd like to learn.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The Room to Breathe Foundation Internship & Service-Learning Program is open to students ages 14+, recent graduates, emerging professionals, and individuals seeking meaningful hands-on experience.
Previous professional experience is not required for many program opportunities.
We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, interests, experience levels, and goals.
For younger participants, we care far more about willingness to learn, dependability, creativity, and effort than having an impressive résumé.
VEPTR YOUTH: YOUR VOICE BELONGS HERE. 💗
We especially encourage VEPTR teens and young adults, siblings, and others connected to the VEPTR community to apply.
Your experiences can bring perspectives, ideas, and creativity that no textbook can teach.
VEPTR youth shouldn't only have opportunities to receive support from their community.
YOU CAN CREATE. YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE. YOU CAN LEAD.
Your ideas can help us think differently about programs, resources, communication, creativity, and the future of the VEPTR community.
A VEPTR connection is not required to apply. The program welcomes applicants from many backgrounds.
NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR SCHOOL?
The program may provide opportunities for students seeking community service, service-learning, school-project, career-exploration, or internship experience.
When appropriate, Room to Breathe Foundation can provide documentation of verified participation and completed hours.
Because every school and organization establishes its own requirements, students are responsible for confirming that participation will qualify for their particular program before beginning their hours.
If your school requires supervisor verification, project approval, forms, evaluations, or completion documentation, tell us when you apply so we can determine whether we're able to meet those requirements.
100% REMOTE. WORK ON YOUR TIME. 🌎
Room to Breathe Foundation is a fully remote nonprofit, and our Internship & Service-Learning Program operates remotely as well.
Participants collaborate digitally with Foundation team members using tools appropriate for their projects.
That means your opportunity isn't determined by how close you live to our Pennsylvania office.
WORK ON YOUR TIME
Our remote program is designed to work around school, appointments, treatment, recovery, work, and family responsibilities.
Complete your projects on a flexible schedule while meeting agreed-upon deadlines and staying connected with your Foundation supervisor.
You'll also gain experience with an increasingly important professional skill:
working, communicating, organizing projects, meeting expectations, and collaborating as part of a remote team.
HOW IT WORKS
01 — APPLY
Tell us about yourself, what interests you, the paths you'd like to explore, your availability, and what you hope to learn.
Applicants under 18 will also provide parent or legal guardian information and consent.
02 — FIND YOUR PATH
We'll review your application and determine whether a current opportunity fits your interests, abilities, availability, age, and learning goals.
03 — SET YOUR GOALS
If selected, we'll establish your project area, expectations, deadlines, communication process, supervision, and any applicable school or service-hour requirements.
04 — CREATE & CONTRIBUTE
Work remotely on real projects with appropriate guidance, supervision, and feedback from the Foundation team.
05 — COMPLETE YOUR EXPERIENCE
When applicable, we'll verify completed participation or service hours and provide appropriate completion documentation.
PARTICIPANTS AGES 14–17
Applicants ages 14–17 require parent or legal guardian consent before participating in the program.
Minor participants will receive age-appropriate assignments, additional supervision, and clearly defined project responsibilities.
Parents or legal guardians will receive information about the participant's role, expected schedule, communication methods, and program expectations before participation begins.
Communication, collaboration, and access to Foundation systems will be limited according to the participant's age, responsibilities, and assigned project.
Participants under 18 will not be given access to sensitive family information, confidential records, donor or financial information, account credentials, private accounts, or other protected Foundation information unless access is specifically necessary for an approved assignment, appropriately limited, and supervised.
All participants must follow Foundation standards regarding privacy, confidentiality, respectful communication, appropriate technology use, and professional conduct.
SEEKING SCHOOL OR ACADEMIC CREDIT?
Tell us when you apply.
Requirements vary by school, college, and educational program. Room to Breathe Foundation can review your institution's requirements to determine whether we're able to meet them.
Participation does not automatically guarantee academic credit, as final approval is determined by the participant's school or educational institution.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED
Because this is a remote program, participants should generally have:
Reliable internet access • An email address • Access to a computer or appropriate device • The ability to communicate and collaborate remotely
Certain creative or technical projects may require additional software, equipment, or tools.
If a project has specific requirements, we'll discuss them with you before you accept the assignment.
READY TO FIND YOUR PATH?
You don't need to have everything figured out • You don't need years of experience. • You just need somewhere to begin.
YOUR TALENT. YOUR IDEAS. YOUR IMPACT.
